"...my "retirement" (from being a slave to my sport)
BUT, in spite of the injury things have been pretty good. As soon as I walked into the wrestling room (before getting hurt), my teammates were commenting on how rejuvenated and just plain happy I seemed.. So I had the chance to tell them about NTC and what an amazing experience it was, which was cool cause they didn't know what it was or that I had even gone (they just thought I was visiting my parents).
And really the injury came at a good time (was still on the NTC high when it happened)... I normally would've been really frustrated about it and though its sucks to have to sit out on practice, i've handed it over to God and I'm trying to worship through the many hours a day I've been spending doing bike sprints and lower body weights...haha!
I've gotten connected with the AIA group from the U of C campus and we've got a camping trip set up for next weekend which I'm really looking forward to (and also good timing cause thats when I should've been going to austria)!
Anyways, overall I'm good! After NTC I felt encouraged to write some of my testimony along with my journey in sport and also to reflect on how much God used NTC as a huge turning point in my life. I shared it with the AIA Wrestling facebook group (Jarrett got it started a couple months ago!) and it was pretty cool to get a tone of responses from some close friends and some other people that I didn't even know and hear how encouraged they were and some of the ways God was working in their lives. Anyways, its just really sweet how quickly this community of christian-athletes is growing all around me. God's amazing!
